Join Us for Earth Day 🌳

Earth Day Fundraiser for Friends of Trees!

Order lunch or dinner at Café Yumm! on Wednesday, April 22, and we will donate a percentage of sales to Friends of Trees in celebration of Earth Day.

As part of our triple bottom line philosophy to balance the environmental, social, and economic considerations of operating Café Yumm! restaurants, we are committed to supporting conservation efforts that increase access to clean drinking water, clean air, and clean soil.

Café Yumm! is happy to partner with Friends of Trees on Earth Day again this year in their mission to improve the urban tree canopy and restore sensitive natural areas in our communities.

Dine with us on April 22, and we will make a donation to Friends of Trees so they can plant even more beautiful trees and shrubs in neighborhoods like yours.

Since 1989, Friends of Trees has planted over 1 million trees and native shrubs in six counties across Oregon and Washington. Through programs that bring thousands of volunteers together for community plantings, this organization plays a vital role in securing our region’s livability in many important ways.

Why should we create more green space in cities?

🌲 Do you seek shade on a sunny day? Cities are much hotter than surrounding rural areas. Trees lower air temperature in our urban neighborhoods by up to 10 degrees.

🌲 Trees absorb stormwater, filter air pollutants, and clean contaminated soil and ground water.

🌲 The substantial root systems of trees can stabilize soil which helps prevent flooding and erosion.

🌲 Having a variety of trees and shrubs provides habitat for wildlife and supports biodiversity in urban zones.

🌲 Cities that prioritize green spaces have happier and healthier citizens.

🌲 Taking just 5 minutes to enjoy green surroundings can improve mood and help your mind relax.

If you would like to get involved, visit Friends of Trees online to sign up for a volunteer event or subscribe to their newsletter, and be sure to grab a meal at participating Café Yumm! locations on Earth Day, April 22 this year to support their amazing work to restore the urban canopy.
