Have you thought about going vegan? Maybe you’ve read about the benefits of a plant-based diet and want to incorporate more veggie-friendly meals? If so, Café Yumm!® is here to nourish you.
Since 1997, our menu has been a haven for vegans and the vegan-curious alike. Any of our Yumm! Bowls® can be veganized with this special menu hack: simply ask us to make your meal “vegan sub avo” to swap out the cheese and sour cream for extra avocado or “vegan sub cc” and we will replace the dairy with a rainbow of purple cabbage and carrots – at no extra charge!
We also offer a vegan-approved variety of deliciously seasoned tofu and tempeh baked to perfection, hearty salads, wraps, bentos, soups, cookies, and more. See all of our vegan menu suggestions here.
And, yes! Our famous Yumm! Sauce® is 100% vegan, so you can enjoy its tangy, creamy goodness without any animal ingredients.
So, what exactly is a vegan diet?
Adopting a vegan diet means that someone eats food derived from plants and mushrooms only. They avoid any ingredient that comes from an animal source, such as beef, pork, poultry, fish, milk, eggs, and honey. For some vegans, abstaining from animal products also includes skincare formulas, cosmetics, and clothing.
Plant-based living is on the rise around the world with many people also becoming “flexitarians” or choosing to make at least some of their weekly meals vegan or vegetarian. There’s a fun social media trend called “Meatless Mondays” where people commit to eating vegan/vegetarian every Monday. You can find tasty recipes and photos of meals that are free of animal products by searching #meatlessmonday. (Check out Café Yumm! on Instagram for inspirations.)
