Cafe Yumm folks, I’ve loved your restaurants and have bought your sauce for years. I am really disappointed with your change of containers for your sauce. The container is plastic, smaller and the bottom concave so it even is less volume. I don’t see a recycle mark on it either. The plastic covering is very hard to remove and the sauce gets stuck on it as well. Please bring back the cute jars.
Thanks, a loyal fan
Boulder Colorado needs YUMM.
Flagstaff, Arizona needs a Cafe Yumm too. Where can I order the sauce and powder? I don’t see a store on the web site.
Lorraine,
Thanks for your comment! You can get curry powder from either an Asian Market or a natural food store. Yumm! Sauce can be ordered through our business office at 541-683-9866 x 210 (Stephanie can help you). However, we don’t ship in the summer. The shipping is pretty expensive because we have to send the sauce overnight and refrigerated, but we’re happy to do it starting October 1.
What stores in the Portland area carry your Yumm Sauce? I will be moving from Eugene to Portland in the next few months and want to have a store lined up. I need your Yumm Sauce it is so YUMMY
You can check out a list of retail locations here: http://www.cafeyumm.com/shop.html
We also have a restaurant in Beaverton. So your Yumm! fix isn’t too far away.
Went to get a coffee at the Riverbend Store.
Noticed 2 airpots, one clearly marked as DECAF.
The guy there 1/2 filled the cup with regular, then filled the top 1/2 with DECAF.
He slyly stood in front of the DECAF pot and turned it around, so I wouldn’t notice…..
I called him on it and said “You’re not giving me DECAF, are you”?
He said “no, we only make DECAF when it is asked for”.
Not good business practices, I must say.
Nate
Dear Nate,
I too was surprised by what you wrote, so here’s what I found out. The manager at the time you received coffee confirmed there was an air pot labeled “regular” and another labeled “decaf.” The Manager had filled both containers with regular coffee due to the high demand for regular at the time. He filled your order with regular coffee, I understand the confusion and apologize. The RiverBend restaurant will receive a second air pot labeled “Regular” and staff are being reminded to place only what is labeled on the air pot into that pot. Thank you for sharing your experience. You have helped us improve.
Cafe Yumm!
I have been hooked on Yumm! Sauce for several years, since my children were students in Eugene. I was thrilled when it became available in grocery stores in Portland. (Now for the “but…” part.) I really don’t like the new plastic container. The grooves in the sides and the inverted bottom make it impossible to get out every last bit of the delicious sauce. Reducing the volume from 8 ounces to 6 ounces and charging the same amount is disappointing. I watch my grocery budget and I now buy Yumm! Sauce much less often than I used to. About 1x/month instead of weekly. You may only hear this from me but I’ll bet other Yumm! addicts are thinking the same thing. Thanks for reading. M. K.
Please bring back the jars. Plastic is terrible! I always washed and reused my jars to hold leftovers. I understand the need to raise prices, but raise them straightforwardly, not by using a cheaper, smaller (not to mention worse for the environment) container and then charging the same.
Hello! I too am a loyal fan and customer and am a bit disappointed in your new packaging. I have been making an effort to reduce my use and purchase of plastic items. Can you make your sauce available in glass again? Please consider the health of our planet too in the production of this great product!!
