A Delicious Blog Launch

3752520464_1e1a8be8c8_bWhat started as a beautiful, delicious experiment in Mary Ann Beauchamp’s quest to get the youngest Beauchamp to eat her veggies has grown into something much, much bigger. And now with Yumm! fanatics ’round the world, we can be proud that it all started here in Eugene, Oregon.

In fact, in just the last two years we’ve expanded beyond Eugene and now have locations in Bend, Corvallis and Beaverton. You can also find Yumm! Sauce at retail stores in Oregon, Washington and Northern California.

To bring all this together, we’re excited to launch this blog to find new ways to connect with our fans… and you, with us. We have some plans for what we’d like to talk about, but we also want to hear from you! You can send an email (info@cafeyumm.com), find us on Twitter or Facebook.

Here’s what we have in mind for the blog:

  • Food & nutrition topics related to making good food choices (and not just when you’re at a Cafe Yumm!).
  • Info about Cafe Yumm! locations, new restaurants, recipes and more (ever had Yumm! Salmon?).
  • Insights into our philosophy and values as a company and as people committed to doing business right.
  • Details about our sustainability efforts including how we build our stores and spend (or don’t spend) our energy.
  • Advice on business management and training from a Yumm! perspective
  • Thoughts about love and life and food… and how really, they are all the same.

Two primary authors will bring you most of the content for the Yumm! blog.

  • Mark Beauchamp: Cafe Yumm! owner and Philosopher-in-Chief will write about topics related to our values and mission.
  • Kelli Matthews: Cafe Yumm!’s online community manager will write primarily on informational topics and news items.

So stay tuned! You can subscribe to get new posts delivered right to your inbox or feed reader, too.

First,
I must praise you and thank you a thousand times over for Yum. It is my families most healthful and yummy meal. The sauce has inspired my children to eat brown rice and veggies.
But…
Your packaging sucks! We loved the glass recyclable jars you used, but the new plastic containers with the hard to remove plastic film has caused more mess and hassel than need be. Please consider changing your packaging to a more consumer friendly container that will encourage me to drive the distance ( an hour+) to reach you.
Towards better packaging and happier yummers!
Jill

Below is my recent review of the Bend Cafe’ Yumm as posted on the local Bend publication “Famished Fork- The Where To Eat Guide”
Karli is doing a fabulous job with the Bend location! We have been patrons and watched the store literally bloom since its opening day. Cafe’ Yumm is our favorite restaurant in Bend. Recently while stopping by for lunch the place was packed and we had to wait 5 minutes for a seat, no sooner than we had sat down our Yumm bowls and soup were there on our table within the usual six minutes, no slow down in the kitchen just because of a huge lunch crowd. On this site restaurants are rated between one and five “forks”. Five being the highest!

Cafe Yumm! is the absolute only restaurant in Bend that qualifies as truly vegetarian/vegan. A few chicken and turkey dishes are also available to balance out the menu. Orders are placed at the counter; the food is then brought to your table or to the window view sitting bar. Fast and efficient service from employees that wish you a pleasant dining experience!
One need not worry that their dining selection will be loaded with cleverly disguised salt, fat and sugar as in so many restaurants in Bend. All of the many Yumm bowls are made with the freshest of organic ingredients and the incomparable Yumm sauce!
Even on the busiest days (we eat there several times a week) the food always arrives at our table in 6 minutes or less. The cafe interior encourages singles, couples and families to enjoy a meal in mellow, bright and unhurried surroundings!
A bonus is sitting at the viewing bar with floor to ceiling windows watching diners exit two adjacent restaurants (with a huge bite out of their credit cards, still trying to figure out if they had a decent meal), while at the same time watching the sun set over the nearby Deschutes river with snow covered Cascade peaks on the horizon.
Cafe Yumm! is healthy dining in Bend at prices affordable by everyone.
Beer and wine are also available at reasonable prices and best of all the unique Yumm sauce can be purchased to take home and enjoy!
